MAYETTE'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT PASIG CAPITOL COMMONS 1 November 2018

Dear classmates today is Mayet's birthday celebration and celebration of  life. She is no longer eligible  for transplant but she is doing well. This is the first time since her miraculous recovery  that we saw and talked to her. She sure had a lot of stories to tell. Today is also our Thanksgiving lunch because our original  group of  4 is once again complete with a bonus - Ting.   Linda P

Left to right: Ting, Edwina, Pete, Tony, Macky and Dimples Navalta,
Rene and Linda Padilla, Choy, Mayette

Mayet had not been able to talk for almost two years because of the ever-present tracheostomy which could not be closed. At lunch, she had so many stories to tell, so many thoughts to share. And so many questions to ask about the class and all the happenings since the first reunion at Mike's. Time became our enemy as we had to break off after three hours so she could rest before her dialysis later in the day. She wishes we could meet more often and asked who will have a birthday next. To which Ting replied: why should there be a birthday? Why, indeed?     Choy

Mom was not able to undergo kidney transplant and will no longer have the procedure due to possible complications. But she is much stronger now thanks to all of your prayers. Please continue to include her in your prayers for her tracheostomy to be eventually removed. God bless all of you and good health to all as well. - Dimples (Jocelyn Navalta, daughter of Mayette).
Thank you for celebrating mom's bday with her Tita Linda Padilla, Tita Choi Tiuseco, Tita Edwina Tan and Tito Ting Tiongco! ❤❤❤  Dimples

Sharing laughter...and a drink of water! The love goes on.

Three of six OB-Gyns of '71. Missing Cel, Fems, and of course Melds.
Have to correct myself; there are more, Boy Lopez and Grace Buenviaje. And of           course, Bert Miranda.

CLASSMATES’ BIRTHDAY GREETINGS FOR MAYETTE

Thank God Mayet's kidney transplant is successful. She now looks healthy. Happy birthday Mayet! I hope you still remember me.  Judith
Hi Dimples! Thanks for letting us know that your Mom is recovering even without the transplant. I will continue to include her in my prayers. I send my warmest regards to all our classmates who are always standing by her, giving their moral and emotional support.  Judith

Dear Mayet You look good! Take care.  Grace Eusebio-Torres
Looking good, Mayet and everyone else! Thanks for sharing, Linda P. Hopefully, Mayet will be strong enough to join us at Mike's?    Enteng

Choy’s response: Yes, she plans to join us at Mike's. If her tracheostomy is finally taken out as planned, for sure she's going.

It is heartwarming to see friends get together and support each other. Reminds me of the song Lean on Me. The chorus is really meaningful:

Lean on me, when you're not strong
                              And I'll be your friend
                              I'll help you carry on
                              For it won't be long
                              'Til I'm gonna need
                              Somebody to lean on.

Note: I used Mayette in the title because that's how Dimples spells it.
